Primary Function: Develops recruiting, sourcing and retention strategies and related action plans while implementing best practices to support the staffing needs of the organization. Our ideal candidate will set high standards for change around process, behaviors and culture relating to recruitment and retention at all of our locations across North America. The role will also oversee the applicant tracking system (ATS), recruitment function as defined, recruiting analytics, and vendors, and reports to the SVP of HR/Chief People Officer.

This role will operate in a dynamic environment with a rapidly changing workforce through a combination of progressive strategic thinking and tactical “roll-up-your-sleeves” contributions. The role will oversee activities based in the U.S. and Canada and will require some travel in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with HR and Operations to deliver recruitment initiatives, monitor performance, develop communications, and set future strategy

  • Oversees the ATS, strategy, and continued improvement

  • Participates in the development, implementation and administration of creative and strategic processes and tools affecting recruitment and retention

  • Monitors and analyzes recruitment media and branding campaigns to determine ROI; reports back to leadership as required

  • Gathers and analyzes recruitment data and metrics from a variety of sources, to identify trends, improvement areas and areas at risk of staffing shortages to identify avenues of improvement

  • Provides direction and leadership to Recruiters to determine appropriate problem resolution activities and escalates when necessary

  • Coaches Corporate Recruiters to train and develop location Driver Recruiters on process and best practices

  • Communicates the vision and goals of the organization to the internal team, and develops and oversees programs to deliver those goals and meet key performance indicators

  • Explores market best practices in driver staffing and implement appropriate best practices in the organization

  • Partners with Senior Leadership to understand and ensure delivery of recruiting priorities while serving as the liaison between key stakeholders and the Recruitment team

  • Builds strong relationships with internal and external customers

  • Provides tools and resources to field locations regarding staffing

  • Manages third-party service providers to ensure success of all pre-employment sourcing and screening programs (LinkedIn, Indeed, HireRight, Employee Safety Inventory, Webtactics, Caliper and Vantage Assessment services, etc.)

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 7-10 years’ experience in full lifecycle recruiting; 2 years management experience required

  • Experience partnering with senior level business executives driving continuous improvement initiatives through geographically dispersed teams

  • Experience recruiting in fast paced, high volume environment

  • Experience with technology, such as Applicant Tracking Systems, from implementation, process improvement and administration

  • Ability to influence others regarding improvement within recruitment processes

  • Possesses knowledge of corporate recruitment, with high volume experience as well as knowledge of best-in-class recruiting techniques, models and processes

  • Strong knowledge in employment law and other compliance regulations preferred

  • 30% travel
