Job description
UWRF Dining/Chartwells provides professional and mass production dish room equipment. Dish room Associates utilize a commercial grade three-compartment sink with power soak technology, heavy-duty, all-in-one conveyor dish machine, state-of-the-art grinder, and dehydrator food waste system. Dish room associates are a back-of-the-house position that works independently and in a team setting. On-the-job training is provided by UWRF Dining. Advancement opportunities are also available.
The position of a dish room associate includes the following duties:
- Transfer dishes from the kitchen and serving stations to the dish room
- Scrape food debris from pans in preparation for dish machine or three-compartment sink
- Remove dinnerware from revolving train return carousel
- Load and unload dish machine
- Put away clean and sanitized dishware and dinnerware
- Cross-train and rotate to all dish room work areas during a shift
- Required to maintain an orderly work area according to safety and sanitation regulations.
- Use all chemicals and equipment in the appropriate manner
- Garbage disposal
- Dish machine
- Tray return carousel
- Three compartment Sink
- Food Dehydrator system
UWRF Dining
UWRF Dining consists of a Residential Dining Program with one Residential Dining Hall and retail operations that includes a food court, Einstein Bros Bagel, Erbert and Gerbert's, a convenience store, and a burger concept. UWRF Dining also has a catering department and operates concessions at Ramer Field and the Falcon Center. Hours of operation range from 7:30 am to 10 pm for retail locations and 7 am-8 pm Monday through Friday, 10:30 am-6:30 pm Saturday and Sunday for residential dining.
UWRF Dining is closed for most major holidays and gives associates a consistent 40-hour schedule per week to help promote a positive work-life balance. We welcome anyone to reach out to tour our facilities, explore higher education foodservice further and discuss job opportunities.
