Overview: Canon U.S.A. is seeking a Distribution Center Coordinator I (Coordinator, Dist Center I) to work out of our Distribution Center Located in Jamesburg, NJ. This individual brings together several operations to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Reports to the shipping supervisor. Level I employees are expected to develop an understanding of their job role and skill set. They then apply this skill set to a range of tasks that can be difficult in nature. They work under supervision of the shipping lead and supervisor. Benefits start on day one including medical, dental & vision. 40 Hour Work Week, Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory. Responsibilities: - Responsible for shipping and receiving record management - Performs outbound and inbound support activities such as order closing, carrier appointment and routing coordination, driver check-in, issue resolution, pickup coordination, and seal management - Communicates loading priorities pre-determined by shipping supervisor to forklift operators - Fulfills proof of delivery requests and responds to internal and external customer service inquiries - Processes freight claims and customer returns; communicates with the credit department, logistics team, and various carriers - Processes shipping order cancellations, requests for freight expense quotes, and freight disposition requests - Coordinates export documents and communications with Logistics - Brings together several facets of operations to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness - Typically reports to a Supervisor or Manager - Level I employees are entry-level and learning company policies and processes so they can develop the basic skills necessary to be successful in the job role - Their tasks are routine in nature, do not require decision-making and they work under close supervision Qualifications: Please note: We comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, orders and mandates, including those we may be required to follow as a federal government contractor/subcontractor. - Typically requires general education and/or vocational training with minimal experience The company will not pursue or support visa sponsorship for this position.
