The Manager, Logistics & Distribution is responsible for managing Wayne warehouse activities including all in-bound freight activities, handling and accounting for components and preparing assembled products for shipment to the sterilizer. You will work with Finished Goods/Distribution warehouse to reconcile issues and to assure proper handling and storage of products for shipments.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage transportation requirements, stock control, warehousing, and ensuring structures are in place to monitor the flow of goods and materials.
  • Ensure timely and accurate movement of materials including shipments to sterilization operations and out bound non-product shipments properly accounted for in SAP.
  • Ensure that all inventories are accurate and stored properly.
  • Ensure timely movement of materials to production floor as requested by manufacturing.
  • Direct and supervise site wide cycle count program.
  • Review freight and expense bills for accuracy prior to payment.
  • Ensure all SAP inventory transactions are accurate and traceable.
  • Supervise and train material handling staff to ensure compliance with warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Provide management reports regarding the status of materials activity as they relate to inventory accuracy and plant objectives.
  • Responsible for Lot Prep Area.
  • Responsible for managing and handling hazardous materials and chemicals per applicable handling methods.
  • Responsible for receiving and delivering complaint products (hazardous material).
  • Responsible for receiving and processing customer complaints.
  • Ensure that health and safety procedures are observed by all warehouse staff.
  • Manage staff training issues; motivating other members of the team; project management; setting objectives.

The candidate we seek must possess:

  • High School degree or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or other related field and/or combination of education and related experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in materials management, warehousing, inventory control or other related activities is required. Experience in an FDA regulated industry or ISO certified organization is ideal.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems required (SAP preferred).
  • Certification in material handling equipment operations (forklift, etc.) is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication. The ability to make effective presentations is highly desirable.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment, be well organized, take initiative, and be flexible.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work well under pressure, work effectively with both employees and management and be able to facilitate resolution of common business issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and Power Point is required.
