    POSITION TITLE: District Assessment Coordinator
    FTE: 1.0 (52 weeks, 40 hours /week)
    SALARY: $57,000-60,000 depending on experience
    POSITION LOCATION: Balas Administration Building
    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director of Teaching Learning Research
    The District Assessment Coordinator performs a variety of professional, supervisory, technical, and administrative tasks in order to direct, coordinate, and facilitate the administration of local, state, and national standardized assessments to students in the District. This position requires an individual with demonstrated skill in coordinating, communicating, and executing all aspects of required local and state assessments. The District Assessment Coordinator will establish and implement effective and compliant assessment processes to facilitate District testing, including maintaining and updating testing rosters, training school teams, meeting established deadlines, and investigating concerns. Strong communication with and support of school teams are significant elements of this role..

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • A bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience as a testing/assessment coordinator preferred
    • Data management experience
    • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft software (e.g., Word, Excel) and Google Apps (e.g., Sheets, Docs, and Forms)
    • Demonstrated ability to assist and manage department work flow with an emphasis on customer service with diverse customer populations
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations regarding the requirements and administration of local and State assessments in the Ann Arbor Public Schools
    • Thorough knowledge of the various assessments required of all public-school students
    • Understanding of FERPA and the protection of student data including ethical use policies at the District, State, and Federal levels
    • Understanding of PowerSchool and the functions of exporting student data
    • Ability to import, export, merge, and clean data in various local and State systems
    • Considerable knowledge of the proper conditions, practices, and procedures for testing
    • Ensure compliance with all State accountability requirements
    • Gain sufficient knowledge of and facility with all testing procedures, platforms and interfaces to provide guidance, training, troubleshooting, and support to building administrators, test coordinators, teams, and teachers
    • Manage all facets of local and State assessments including storage, security, inventory, ordering, scheduling, delivery and pickup, pre-coding, test disposal, printing of scoring reports, and distribution of scoring reports to schools
    • Maintain complete and accurate records
    • Conduct special investigations to resolve any identified issues related to testing
    • Facilitate data exchange and communication with Michigan Department of Education
    • Coordinate with school teams and the English Learner department to support and report accommodations and modifications in student testing conditions
    • Coordinate with Instructional Technology Department on technical tools and platforms associated with local and state assessments from set up to implementation
    • Coordinate the development of short- and long-term planning for testing administration
    • Attend State and County training and other meetings pertaining to assessment coordination
    • Monitor performance of school teams and support as needed
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    • Proof of COVID vaccination required

    individuals.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    Read, write, and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, parents, students, and administrators.
    Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    Add, subtract, and multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY:
    Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
    Positively work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds. Maintain positive perceptions of diverse families.
    Develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
