The Modern Canine is coming soon to Belle Mead, NJ! We are a pet store that offers luxury grooming services. Our modern aesthetic, unique product selection and knowledge of dogs sets us apart from the average pet store and grooming salon.

We are seeking passionate, reliable and knowledgeable groomers to join our team! This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is starting out and wants to gain that real-life experience after completing grooming school or even the most seasoned groomer with years of experience. We strive to offer a fun and rewarding work environment!

We are willing to work with the right person to determine the best schedule to meet both our needs, full-time and part-time groomers will be considered!

The Ideal Candidate:

• Dependable, responsible and driven
• Great customer service skills
• Attention to detail
• Passion for working with dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds

Responsibilities:

• Bathing, conditioning, treating and drying dogs
• Trimming dog nails, brushing their teeth and cleaning ears
• Grooming and styling dogs according to clients’ instructions
• Dematting and detangling hair as required
• Identifying health issues in dogs, such as: ear infections, skin conditions, tooth decay, etc.
• Ensuring the safety of dogs during the grooming process
• Routinely cleaning work station
• Recommending grooming products to clients

Requirements:

• Grooming certifications are preferred
• Proven grooming experience
• Sound understanding of animal behavior
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift pets and standard grooming equipment
• Customer service experience

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $800.00 - $1,500.00 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
• Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

• Commission pay
• Tips
