Responsibilities & Requirements:
Under the direction of the Medical Director and the department Radiation Oncologists works as a member of the Radiation Oncology team. Under the guidance of a Medical Physicist accurately plans and calculates external beam treatments of patient. The Medical Dosimetrist is responsible for his/her own professional development and practices within the scope of care defined by law. Utilizing organizational resources the Medical Dosimetrist acts as a patient advocate for safe care, including participation in performance improvement activities. The planning of treatments for radiation oncology patients reflects the mission, vision, values, and philosophies of the organization and the department.

  • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
  • Board certification in medical dosimetry or required to pursue certification in medical dosimetry at completition of second year of on-the-job-training.
  • BSL certification.
