Summary:
Our WTG DOT Pipeline Compliance Team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence to support pipeline safety compliance throughout our multiple, natural gas and liquids business units.
As a DOT Compliance Specialist, reporting to the DOT Compliance Manager, this position will represent WTG as a resource providing support and guidance for multiple operating regions. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing multiple priorities and initiatives with various internal and external stakeholders from initiation to completion.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and provide subject-matter guidance with a team of DOT Compliance Specialists
- Work with DOT Compliance leadership to elevate the compliance culture within WTG’s natural gas and liquids business units
- Provide overall support and guidance to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations for 49 CFR 191-199, as well as WTG internal programs and processes
- Facilitate federal and state inspections for each operating region where jurisdictional assets exist
- Communicate regulatory interpretations and guidance to WTG business partners
- Establish and maintain relationships across business units and with external regulatory bodies, enhance credibility and trust, and influence and manage issues at multiple levels of the organization.
- Support emergency response with proactive leadership, training, and support for pipeline asset protection from inherent and external risks
- Identify process improvements and best practices observed in the field or recommended by others and ensure implementation by working with key stakeholders
- Support and communicate changes of various DOT compliance programs
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of pipeline compliance experience.
- Strong knowledge of DOT 49 CFR 191 -199 and the Texas Administrative Code.
- Valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record
- Possess excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5-7 years of pipeline compliance experience
- Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships with a wide variety of internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proven ability to effectively lead, organize, plan, prioritize, and complete work designed to affect change through improving/changing processes.
Working Conditions:
- 50% office / 50% Field-off-site; Position requires work and travel away from home office as needed
- This job operates in both inside as well as in outside field/plant conditions including inclement weather. Noise level may be loud at times. Periodically, may be required to pull/push doors open to move around the gas plant, crouch and/or stoop around obstacles or climb A-frame ladders, and occasionally lift and carry objects up to fifty pounds.
- The job requires occasional visits to industrial settings that may include hazardous materials and require personal protective equipment, PPE, to be worn while at such facilities/sites.
