The role of Driver Manager at Hines Trucking, Inc. (HTI) is to ensure customer satisfaction and fleet performance through management and retention of drivers and yard supervisors. This includes maintaining individual and fleet performance stats on drivers, monitoring and recording mill volumes and issues, daily on each mill, and reporting, through verbal or written communication, to manager. The Driver Manager must also ensure and maintain accurate equipment assignment on all drivers, which includes ensuring accuracy of equipment assigned to orders; including unit number, trailer number, driver, fleet, and terminal. The Driver Manager will also provide assistance to accounting and payroll with regard to entry of load ticket information into HTI’s dispatch software system. The Driver Manager must always maintain a congenial attitude and never jeopardize the integrity of the company, safety, customer, or themselves while representing HTI.

Essential Qualifications/Duties:

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
  • Dispatch/Data Entry Experience.
  • Strong problem solving skills/communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively manage drivers, including enforcing current company policies.
  • Strong organizational management/Stress management.
  • Must be able to multi task to maintain accurate equipment assignments for multiple tractors, trailers, and locations.
  • Ensure all maintenance issues are communicated and resolved in a timely and safe manner.
  • Maintain Fleet records and encourage retention on all HTI employees. Communicate deficiencies to manager and HR/Recruiting for resolution.
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed and presented on all personnel issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and resolve equipment issues daily; including pre-loads, abandoned units, etc.; in a timely manner.
  • Ensure employee performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure employee issues, recognition/discipline are handled within 24 hours of occurrence or during first available normal working hours.
  • Ensure driver performance by coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure safety compliance and support through encouragement, daily, with all HTI employees.
  • Ensure profitability and efficiency of fleet/customers through proper planning and problem resolution.
  • Ensure your support of all HTI departments and their requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
