Hiring Private Drivers for School Transportation
K and T Transport is hiring drivers to join its highly successful team--transporting students to/from Williamsburg-James City County public schools using their personal vehicles (not buses).
Pay: $25/route + $1.75/mile over 16 miles + gas & wear/tear stipend + cleaning supplies stipend + on-the-job insurance. Pay is based on completed runs.
Drivers usually have 2-3 routes in the morning and 2-3 routes in the afternoon.
No special license is needed.
Work only on school days—not on weekends, holiday breaks, or days school is not in session.
Requirements:
- Safe driving record: No moving violations on your driving record within the last 2 years. You must submit your complete driving record before being hired.
Virginia-licensed drivers: Go to https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/onlineservices/ and select “Record Request”, then choose the “View record only” option. Print the document; do not have it mailed or certified. ($8).
- Clean background check
- Able to consistently pass drug tests
- Clean, reliable, 4-door vehicle, 2010 or later, that carries at least 5 people, including the driver
- Must speak fluent, easy-to-understand English
- American citizen or permanent green card holder. Temporary green cards or work visas are not acceptable.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $100.00 - $210.00 per day

COVID-19 considerations:
Masks are currently optional. Between each route, the driver must ensure their vehicle has been (or will be) sanitized before picking up the next set of passengers.
