Job Summary

WKCTC is a comprehensive community college that provides excellence in teaching a learning, promotes student success, and supports economic development.

Job Duties:

The Dual Credit Advisor position will provide support to WKCTC Student Services by:
  • Oversees functions relating to dual credit enrollment.
  • Coordinates high school, ATC, and CTC visits to assist students with enrollment processes.
  • Advises and enrolls students.
  • Mentors and tracks dual credit enrollment.
  • Oversees all activities relating to National Alliance of Current Enrollment Partnerships.
  • Develops documents relating to promoting dual credit enrollment, transition to WKCTC, and other communication pieces as needed.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with 22 secondary education partners.
  • Oversees all dual credit pathways as well has understand college/university pathways.
  • Works with Perkins grant coordinator.
  • Travels to partners to present various workshops on dual credit program but also all college programs.
  • Serves on college committees.
  • Assist with current student enrollment and engagement.
  • Continues to update knowledge on KDE, CPE, SACSCOC, NACEP, and state policies.
  • Candidate will also teach introduction to college course.
  • Candidate will be expected to assist with all recruiting and admissions activities.
  • Understand the FAFSA process.

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess the following:
  • Master’s degree in student services, education, business, psychology or a closely related field;
  • Five years experience in a high school and/or community college setting working with student academic preparedness, admissions, student advisement, student support services;
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with prospective students, college and high school faculty, staff and the public, and commitment to a team building approach;
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population;
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, and the general public in a courteous manner;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of integrated software systems and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty and the public;
  • Demonstrated skills in facilitating and modeling a quality customer service orientation;
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated strong interpersonal skills;
