The brand new Sushi Lab FL is NOW OPEN in the Residence Inn Pompano Beach Oceanfront! This beachfront restaurant features an intimate chef's counter where you can experience an innovative omakase dining experience with fresh, locally and internationally sourced fish. Additional indoor and outdoor seating featuring izakaya, sushi and maki offerings. Sushi Lab FL offers a great selection of signature handmade cocktails, imported sakes and Japanese whiskeys to enjoy by the waterfront.

Job Overview
Through effective hands-on management, leadership and direction, the Restaurant Manager will ensure the highest quality dining standards within our F&B outlets, maximizing the balance between employee, guest, and owner satisfaction. Ensure compliance with corporate/franchise brand policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day restaurant operation through hands-on personal involvement, and a combination of management on-the-floor and day to day departmental administration.
- Oversee department budgets, profit and loss statements and productivity, providing input and implementing strategies to effectively manage labor, beverage costs, and food sales, to maximize restaurant GOP.
- Interact with guests to regularly review and evaluate the degree of satisfaction with the restaurant.
- Recommend and implement new initiatives to keep up with demand and market changes, investigating and resolving food quality and service complaints, maximizing profit opportunities through a commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Through personal presence, inspire a passion for food, wine and service amongst the restaurant team, through a genuine personal commitment to service excellence.
- Development of restaurant policies and procedures, where needed, and personally accountable for seeing consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Manage the day to day departmental administration, including productivity, scheduling, payroll, performance management, inventory management for all areas of responsibility, ensuring completion of responsibilities within established timeframes and deadlines.
- Consistency is integral to the success of our restaurant. The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for leading pre-shift training and ensuring excellent service standards for the Restaurant team, and ensuring ongoing training in menu knowledge, season promotions, service styles, and the successful onboarding of new employees.
- Ensure active communication with the rest of the hotel is efficient and thorough.
- Participate in recruitment for the team, in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Effectively coach, train, motivate, communicate, recognize and reward the team.
- Implement, drive and monitor up-selling programs; at all times ensure a profitable restaurant.
- Manage restaurant ambiance, music, lighting, settings, style and overall presentation.
- Maintain established par levels for the restaurant, tableware and controls over labor costs, requisitions, purchase orders, receipt of goods and inventory.
- Undertake other related responsibilities, as required.
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role. Minimum of (4) years of experience.
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
- Familiarity with restaurant management software - i.e. OpenTable, Micros
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
- Acute financial management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus
