Early Childhood Teacher Assistant Positions (Head Start & Early Head Start)
Job description
Bennington County Head Start and Early Head Start has expanded with a new building at the Bennington Rec Center! We have additional classrooms that we need to staff. Below is a list of our current openings.
1. Early Childhood Services Co Teacher: The Co Teacher will be responsible for the general supervision of a group of 8 infants and toddlers aged six weeks to three years and the delivery of comprehensive Early Head Start services. The Co Teacher will assume the duties of the center manager at times when the manager is absent.
Full-time. Monday - Friday. Full year position.
3. Bus Monitor/Classroom Floater: This position provides supervision and safety to children while on the bus and in the classroom. The Bus Monitor/ Floater helps to create and maintain an atmosphere in which children feel welcome, valued, comfortable and secure. The Bus Monitor/ Floater will help the program day-to-day operations run smoothly.
Full-time. Monday - Friday. Full year position.
4. Bus Driver/Classroom Assistant: Provides bus transportation for enrolled children in a safe and timely manner to and from the North Bennington Campus. Acts as a liaison between the program and parents by communicating effectively, as well as retrieving and disseminating documentation that goes back and forth between school and the parents.
Full-time. Monday - Friday. Full year position. We are willing to pay and support the right candidate to get their CDL for this position.
5. Substitute Teacher Assistant: Provides substitute teaching for classroom Teachers and Assistants, as needed, when Teachers are sick or not available, following developmentally appropriate standards.
On Call/As needed. Monday - Friday. Full year position.
Requirements:- We require a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be willing to pursue further education in Early Childhood education program or obtain a CDA. Head Start/Early Head Start will pay and support the right staff to pursue education.
