AWARE is looking for the right person to lead the Early Head Start team as the Early Head Start Director.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Hiring, coaching, and evaluating the performance of program staff.
- Facilitate resolution of conflicts, and promote a consistent exchange of information across AWARE.
- Encourage and support professional development opportunities.
- Plan and facilitate regular leadership meetings.
- Participate in the design of internal structures, systems and policies.
- Ensure adequate systems in place to maintain highest quality of services to children and families in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships and collaborations with stakeholders, families, and other community agencies and partners.
Required Skills, Abilities & Education:
- A thorough understanding of the above-noted services, individuals, resources, and tools.
- The ability to assess services from a strengths model perspective, along with the skills, knowledge, and abilities to develop a theoretical perspective.
- The ability to work with a variety of people.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
- A BS/BA Degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education/Development, Human Services, Health Care Management, or Business Administration
Preferred Skills & Abilities & Education:
- Grant writing experience preferred.
- Experience in supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration, along with direct employment experience is preferred.
- Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.
