Position Summary

Under the guidance and supervision of Customer Marketing Manager GTR - Americas, working together with Global Brand Team, GTR Marketing and Commercial Manager(s), Regional & Domestic marketing teams, the Assistant Customer Marketing GTR – Americas will be primarily responsible for supporting Customer Marketing Manager GTR - Americas in developing brands’ growth plan and marketing strategies, formulation and execution of launch plans, marketing programs and activities, in order to secure sustainable growth in sales revenue and business profit, while ensuring A&P spend is kept within given budget.

Other key deliverables include marketing support for The Macallan Boutique & SIS, GTR Digital and E-Commerce Strategy.

This role is required to work in close partnerships with external parties (retailers and vendors) and internal teams from the GTR Commercial team, GTR Marketing/Create team, Regional Domestic and Global Brand teams, Supply Chain and Finance.

Job Description

Customer Marketing

  • Marketing Lead:
    • LATAM
  • Together with the Customer Marketing Manager (CMM) - Americas and GTR Commercial Managers:
    • Assist in the development and execution of yearly trade marketing programs and activities consistent with GTR brand strategies, while adhering to markets’ commercial needs, objectives, and A&P budgets
    • Review and evaluate customer marketing programs and activities for effectiveness and efficiency, for CMM Americas to be able to make recommendations of brand initiatives and tactical promotions required to improve performance
  • Permanent Visibility & Retail Excellence (Boutiques, SIS, Wall-bays, Others)
    • Support Retail Team in executing Operational Guidelines, Visual Merchandising Guidelines and POSMs targeted at the GTR environment and shopper profile (e.g., key visuals, product glorifier, product signage, special message signage, price tags)
  • HPP Activations
    • Support CMM in the execution of HPP’s in all locations, ensuring quality and best in class execution
  • A&P
    • Effective monitoring and management of assigned customer groups’ A&P budgets under the guidance of the CMM.
  • Assist CMM Americas in preparation of Retailers’ presentations and marketing meetings
  • Oversee and manage regional trade shows, media and consumer events
  • Prepare and deliver reports on market knowledge, e.g., passenger traffic, marketing trends and economic developments to support brand strategies

Brand Management and Operational Marketing

  • Aligned to Global Brand Team and GTR growth plans, support in the development of brand growth plans and marketing strategies; executions of innovation launch plans and marketing activations of all Edrington brands, to drive brand power and brand growth (volume, NSV and profit)
  • Support the Commercial and GTR Customer Marketing teams on the following:
    • Commercial: Support GTR Commercial Team with marketing tools e.g. Retailers’ Presentation, Product Sell Sheets, Brand Assets, Launch Directives, Training Materials (customized to retailers), Consumer Event proposals/support
    • Education & Training: Adaptations of brand educational modules and materials for all GTR customer groups
  • Product Launch Management (For A Launches only): Support Post-Launch Analysis with sell-in and sell-out data, trade and consumer feedback, market activation KPIs of owned customer groups to identify learnings for future improvement
  • Forecast management: Involve in monthly forecast review for own brands and markets (Innovations, Limited Editions, Prestige items, Promotional Items and POSMs)
  • Digital & E-Commerce: Support the overall planning and execution of GTR Digital Marketing, social media and E-Commerce strategy for all Edrington brands
  • Assist Customer Marketing Managers in preparation of annual Growth Plans, Marketing Strategies, Budgets and Forecasts
  • Insights: Working with Business Development Analyst and Commercial Finance Analyst, utilize market research /shopper insight and business reports to identify gaps, opportunities, and growth drivers
  • Regular updates (brand performance / activity etc.) to key stakeholders in Global Brand Team, GTR and Domestic Markets to seek understanding and alignment in strategy

Skills and Experience

  • At least 2 years working experience in a Marketing role. Travel Retail & Duty Free experience is a plus as well as Luxury goods in related categories: Spirits, P&C, Watches, Fine Jewellery, Fashion
  • Good presentation and communication skills. Commercially driven with strong analytical skill.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media and competency in digital marketing tools
  • Well-organized, meticulous, detail oriented, self-motivated, ability to handle multiple / diverse tasks while in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Possess excellent project management and time management skills
  • Proactive, good team player and independent with strong dedication to result. Ability to build relationship and garner support across functional teams.
  • Collaborative and strong ability to work cross functionally
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), Spanish speaking is a plus
  • Must be open to travel 25% within region
  • BA Degree in Marketing, or related fields
