About the Position
Reporting directly to IAC’s site General Manager and indirectly to IAC’s Chief Compliance Officer, the EHS/Facilities Manager position is responsible for leading a team of skilled EHS and Facilities Specialists, and EHS/Facilities Support Technicians, to achieve site environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance, as well as maintaining the facility and equipment in a positive state of readiness, and developing budgets to support these functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
EHS
- Maintain a systematic and organized approach to understanding and tracking compliance with all environmental laws and regulations, as well as environmental permits and lease conditions, including:
- Air Emissions Reporting
- Hazardous Materials Usage
- Hazardous Waste Labeling and Disposal
- Wastewater Treatment
- Equipment/Fleet Permits
- Fuels Usage
- VOCs/HAPs
- Aerospace NESHAP
- Air Filtration
Maintain a systematic and organized approach to understanding and tracking compliance with all health and safety laws and regulations, including:- Hex Chrome Sampling
- Hex Chrome Medical Program
- Lift Operations
- Noise Abatement
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Fall Restraint Equipment
- Record OSHA injuries
- Oversee workers compensation claims
- Work to eliminate potentially dangerous activities and hazards for our employees and contractors and lower their risk of injuries and other dangerous threats.
- Assess materials and processes to determine waste profiles.
- Oversee on-going training regarding EHS.
- Interface with local oversight agencies.
- Oversee ISO14001 certification.
- Conduct routine EHS meetings to review all new procedures and policies.
- Ensure EHS information is posted throughout site as required.
- Investigate all incidents and report the findings to the senior management on the root cause of the injury and make suggestions on how it could be prevented.
- Stay up to date on new laws, rules and regulations.
Facilities
- Manage hangar repairs, maintenance and preventive maintenance costs.
- Setup and maintenance of inventory, tooling, and equipment cribs.
- Maintain shift turnover logs and preventative maintenance calendars/logs.
- Scheduling: preventative maintenance, inspection and annual services for all ground support equipment (HVAC systems, wastewater treatment systems, air compressors, electrical systems, small tools maintenance).
- Vendor analysis: general suppliers, janitorial, chemical, etc.
- Manage and document chemical and water treatment as required on discharge reporting log sheets.
- Remove, repair and replace from the hangar floor any damaged or unserviceable ground support or paint equipment.
- Oversee housekeeping of the facility’s exterior grounds, ground support equipment (GSE) storage areas and GSE maintenance shops.
Position Requirements:
- ISO 9001, 14011 and Internal Auditing.
- Professional and well-versed when it comes to the requirements of the rules and regulations that help protect the worker’s health and safety.
- Experience training employees with proper operational and procedural processes for water treatment plants.
- Attention to detail, good communication skills and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work on-call in case there are emergencies.
- Current knowledge of basic water chemistry.
- Travel as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directly supervises up to five direct employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with IAC’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor/Associates degree (preferably in EHS, or related discipline such as industrial engineering, chemistry or biology, related other science discipline)
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
- Certification based on the local, state, federal requirements, e.g., DOT, RCRA, OSHA.
- Certified Safety Professional (GSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) ideally.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Physical Demands: The employee is required to work at a desk for long periods of time.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an energetic, team-oriented office environment.
