Overview:

Infiltrator Water Technologies (IWT) is a market leader within the onsite wastewater treatment industry, Infiltrator manufactures a variety of revolutionary products and innovative, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional stone and pipe leach field and concrete septic wastewater system components. IWT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Drainage Systems (ticker: WMS, NYSE).

The majority of our products are produced almost entirely from recycled resins. Infiltrator’s recycling operation is among the country’s top twenty producers / consumers of recycled resins and among only a few of whom consume 100% of that resin in the finished products produced. Infiltrator operates some of largest molding machines and robotics producing the largest plastic molded parts in the world. IWT has always and continues to compete on innovation; we hold over 200 patents.

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for all aspects of safety, health, and environmental programs (EHS) throughout the organization. Critical attributes for this role include managing compliance and directing the development, deployment, and most importantly, continuous improvement of our safety and safety culture. In this role you will report directly to the VP of Manufacturing.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing, promoting, and implementing a proactive, positive safety culture throughout our organization through listening, partnership, engagement, and leadership.
  • Drive awareness and accountability for Safety and Health performance through all levels of our organization. Provide leadership and training across the organization to assure compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Monitor EH&S performance across all sites through regular audits, checks and inspections.
  • Continue to support and where necessary establish Safety and Health goals and objectives aligned with company and operational goals and objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the implementation of systems to collect, monitor, analyze, and evaluate predictive and lagging indicators that measure and report on the effectiveness of our programs and reduce process variance. Facilitate consistent real time reporting and sharing of safety matters, tools, etc.
  • Collaborate with site leadership and risk management to manage the reporting and investigation of all accidents/incidents and ensure effective corrective measures are implemented.
  • Lead our company’s environmental management programs, processes, and compliance. Develop OSHA written plans and requisite training and documentation programs for our manufacturing operation.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by staying current on potential impacts to our organization by proposed legislation and develop plans for compliance.
  • Design, implement and monitor effective safety training for existing and new hire employees.
  • Responsible for obtaining and updating operational permits for the different government offices and preparation of EH& S reports as required for submission to regulatory authorities.
  • Manage training and regulatory requirement of ISI trucking fleet and drivers.
  • Foresees the possibility of an emergency occurring and carries out measures to prevent such from occurring.
  • Organizes drills for members of staff to train them on the appropriate response to give in case of an emergency.
  • Training employees on health and safety policies and best practices.

Qualifications
  • Ten years of experience in safety and health at both a site and company level.
  • Proven track record in reducing total recordable incident rate (TRIR).
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify, monitor, and respond to developing internal and external trends across a broad array of safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Must have expert knowledge of EPA, DEQ, OSHA and DOT.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and State regulations impacting safety and health programs.
  • Tactical expertise and knowledge of safety program systems, processes and tools, gained through a career of increasing responsibility in safety.
  • Superior organizational, project/process management, kaizen, six sigma, root cause analysis and technical skills as demonstrated by an ability to manage multiple detailed projects and drive towards deadlines.
  • Related licenses, certifications, and/or memberships in professional associations preferred such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related field is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Hands-on experience in the implementation of several of the occupational health components within an EHS program (hearing conservation, hazard communication, emergency action plans, PPE, bloodborne pathogens, and air sampling).
