Location: (Candidates to reside in Gloucester, MA/High Bridge, NJ/Sunnyvale, CA or Tustin, CA) / (North America Regions - ALL sites)

THE OPPORTUNITY

The EHS Manager, partnering with Local and Regional Leadership, creates and implements a world class safety system that identifies risk, eliminates hazards and strives for continuous safety improvement and standardization throughout North America. Will comply with all applicable OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements and serve as a technical resource to the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the ISO14001 & ISO 45001 management system across four North America sites.
  • Develops and implements safety policies in compliance with local, state, federal and company Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage all environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance programs Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local EH&S related laws, regulations and rules affecting all aspects of our business.
  • Conducts worksite assessments to identify and evaluate safety and health risk and compliance exposures. Develops and implements strategies to reduce or eliminate these risks and exposures.
  • Responsible for developing, updating, and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and local officials regarding permitting, inspections, reporting, and emergency response.
  • Drives administrative controls and engineering controls to eliminate hazards in the facilities to create a zero-incident workplace
  • Plans and delivers training programs for management and employees on relevant accident prevention and compliance programs. Conducts new employee orientation in connection with company goals and requirements.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and are readily accessible when needed.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Develops a monthly “safety” topic and distributes to all facilities for all to be on the same page (One XP)
  • Review compliance and maintains all regulatory requirements with the respective AHJ, air discharge permits, storm water discharge permits, local POTW permits, NPDES permits, etc.
  • Coordinates facility Safety and Health committee\subcommittees and facilitates the continuous improvement process through Behavior Based Safety, Ergonomic, and shift safety teams
  • Conducts analyses of accidents and health hazards to be used to target specific prevention strategies. Prepares and maintains required documentation of incident reports, statistical analysis for use as required by company personnel or outside agencies.
  • Provide management and hands-on support to operations as required.
  • Participate or lead Incident Investigations to find continuous improvement opportunities either in work practices or work conditions with the use of solid root cause analysis.
  • Lead projects aimed at anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling safety hazards and environmental risks
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, evaluations, and reviews as necessary
  • Prepare environmental permits, storm water discharge permits, local POTW permits, NPDES permits, etc. leveraging both internal and external resources.
  • Performs compliance investigations, research environmental and health and safety regulations.
  • On a monthly basis, generates reports of the status of the Health & Safety Program for all XP Power sites.
  • Position requires travel to different XP Power sites in NA (ALL sites).
  • Responsible for supporting all four North America sites.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required.
  • ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, or other professional certification
  • Five years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing safety/environmental programs, policies, and training
  • Familiarity or experience with ISO standards
  • Ability to be self-directed and complete work with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental state and federal regulations and policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with California worker safety requirements and Cal/OSHA regulatory programs
  • Prior project or program management responsibilities over multiple operating locations is preferred
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Proficient in Power Point Presentations
  • Registered Professional Certifications in environmental or safety field. PSM, RMP, CSP, etc. * OSHA 30, 500 or 501

Pay: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
