Under general direction, responsible for Electrical Engineering activities including breakers. Works independently with minimal guidance using knowledge of engineering concepts in the disciplines required for the specific position. May provide guidance and direction to other Talen Energy employees to support production of high quality, timely and cost-effective engineering solutions to technical problems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assists in the work on smaller engineering projects or well-defined areas of larger projects.
• Uses existing procedures to investigate, evaluate and assist in producing technically correct and cost effective designs or recommendations that solve ongoing problems.
• Builds relationships that will facilitate knowledge transfer, cross functional knowledge of related work groups, and ability to present work products effectively.
• Works under supervision in the field and/or office in a variety of functions and challenging but structured work that develops competencies in the function/discipline.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using well defined engineering procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems, and engineering studies.
• Continually expands and improves technical and business skill set under own initiative with instruction, guidance and direction from others.
• Assists in a variety of topics including developing innovative procedures, improved design recommendations or new or better equipment purchase recommendations.

• Familiar with electrical design requirements for Nuclear Power plants
• Develop and Optimize breaker preventive maintenance to ensure high equipment reliability.
• Support the Emergency Response Organization.

Basic Qualifications

Engineer

• BS Degree in Engineering
• Individual must meet nuclear requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.

Support Engineer

• BS Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 2 years related engineering experience
• Individual must meet nuclear requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.

Sr. Engineer

• BS Degree in Engineering
• Shall have at least five years of experience in electrical engineering at a commercial nuclear reactor facility.
• Individual must meet nuclear requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training Certificate
• Professional Engineer registered in Pennsylvania
• Familiar with breaker designs
• Meet the qualifications for a Senior Level Engineering position
