Home Upgrades Non-Certified Electrical Foreman - Positions open in: Houston, TX and Los Angeles, CA.
Overview:
The Home Upgrades Non-Certified Electrical Foreman provides leadership and technical expertise for a crew. This position is responsible for the safety, quality, customer service, and productivity of each assigned project. Projects include installing solar systems and performing work for existing customers.
Responsibilities:
  • Organizes, leads, and trains crews to complete projects within established guidelines and time-frames
  • Ensures attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and safety
  • Analyzes and resolves worker problems and recommend solutions
  • Relate to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints
  • Works with up to 600 Volt Circuits
  • Roof and attic work required
  • Manages technicians who are on site to ensure they are following company and department policies and meeting production standards
  • Oversees the safety of the job site
  • Completes documentation and reporting for each job
  • Provides appropriate training, positive, and constructive feedback to crew
  • Completes planning and project layout, including planned installation material take-off quantities and tool needs based on the project schedule
  • Ensures work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
  • Completes solar battery installations as assigned
  • Troubleshoots system problems and resolve electrical issues
  • Safely plans and complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPU)
  • Work with branch team and home owners to fulfill any necessary system upgrades/repairs to support our solar equipment
  • Works with local inspectors to satisfy local requirements and expectations

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of installation experience with the latest electrical code, means, and methods
  • Electrical installation and repair experience required
  • Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC
  • Working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Be able to apply the latest technological techniques to maximize employee safety, quality, and production
  • Superior internal and external communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.)

The Job:

Overview:
The Roofing Installer will be responsible for working closely with the Roofing Foreman, Branch Construction Supervisor, and installation teams. The Roofing Installer will be responsible for assisting roof projects and repairs. The Roofing Installer is a working field position that works with a team of 3 to 6 members. The Roofing Installer will be cross trained as a PV Solar Installer as well.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assisting in the successful re-roof and repair of clients roofs.
  • Safely load and unload roofing materials from the vehicle to the roof.
  • Ensure there is adequate materials and equipment to safely and efficiently complete projects.
  • Lift roofing materials onto the roof using pulleys or ladder.
  • Safely remove existing roofing from home.
  • Clear debris from roof.
  • Install new roofing-composition, tile and single ply roofing according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Repair and/or replace damaged sheathing, starter, fascia, and rafters.
  • Locate and repair cracked tiles.
  • Fill in missing tiles.
  • Clear out gutters and drains.
  • Locate and fix leaks.
  • Repair damage caused from storms and high winds.

  • Knowledge of standard roofing procedures, methods, materials, systems, and buildings codes as they relate to the roofing process.
  • Basic carpentry skills as the relate to roofing; plywood and shiplap replacement.
  • Ability to use a tape measure, simple hand tools including a hammer, utility knife, and chalk line, broom and other cleaning tools effectively.
