JOB SUMMARY:

• The Power Node Technician’s primary responsibility is to trouble-shoot and maintain the system power nodes. Ability to repair and maintain node equipment, including fiber optic cable, forward, return, modem, ingress, DCT and HD related equipment. Assisting Hub, Line and Universal technicians along with demand calls, and other special assignments as needed.
• The Power Node Technician reports directly to the Supervisor of Technical Operations.
• There are no direct reports to this position.

Engineering Power Node and system problems
Business Ops Service related issues
IP Group Network Issues
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Power Node Technician is accountable for:

• Ability to perform all duties of the Line Technician,
• Troubleshooting, repair and provide on-going maintenance to power node equipment.
• Demanding calls for power node-related issues.
• Assisting the Line Technician in resolving system problems.
• Assisting the Engineering in resolving Power Node problems.
• Understanding and using trouble-shooting equipment including but not limited to Bit Error Rate detector and Spectrum analyzer.
• Assisting Hub Technician in resolving system problems.
• Assisting various projects as needed.
• Assisting with the training of the power node, line, and universal technicians.
• Presenting an acceptable, courteous and professional image and having good customer relation skills with our customers and the general public at all times.
• Using proper telephone etiquette.
• Helping to create an atmosphere of positive teamwork, cultural change, and employee relations.
• Performing any miscellaneous departmental duties as needed.
• Adhering to the Company’s policies and procedures, including the EEO guidelines and safety, at all times.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience

• High school diploma/equivalent – Required
• Associate’s degree in electronics- Preferred
• 5 yrs. practical work experience in CATV system maintenance-required
• Demonstrate through testing via written and or oral testing the ability to troubleshoot system problems from the Power Node to the Home - Required
