Electromechanical Aerospace Assembly (1st and 2nd shift available)
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
Work is performed under limited supervision using blueprints, PBS’s and both written and verbal instruction. Performs basic and routine mechanical and electrical assembly operations on components and final assemblies in various departments.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Continuously improve products and processes and participate in quality improvement teams when appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery to the customer by maintaining productivity and following department schedules.
Recommend ways to save money and cut unnecessary costs.
Responsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to customer requests, understanding customer requirements and building successful, productive customer relations.
Trained to use computerized data systems, photometers and electronic test equipment in the assembly, balance and testing of sub-level and final-level units in ISP or final assembly.
Performs detailed mechanical assembly, balance and testing of ISP final levels and related sub-assemblies.
Ability to interpret assembly drawings.
Test switches in ISP.
Accurately completes all related paperwork and wanding functions.
Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
Reacts to change productively and handles other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of education, training and/or work, providing reasonable assurance that the required knowledge and skills have been acquired by the applicant.
Experience in either mechanical or electronic assembly, or both.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Soldering knowledge and experience is preferred but not required.
Has the ability to use common hand tools and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, depth gages, flow meters, pressure gauges etc.
Is able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and component schematics in order to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
Have basic personal computer skills such as Word and Excel.
Must be able to read, write and understand English fluently.
Must demonstrate excellent hand/eye coordination and demonstrate ability to work with small parts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
