Job description
The Quality Manager position is responsible for leadership of the quality team, including overseeing the IATF16949 / ISO 9001:2015 QMS. Will provide support for manufacturing quality issues, root cause problem solving, responding to customer complaints, supplier, quality and product submissions. Directs, implements, and maintains operational-level strategies and objectives and monitors performance against plan. Works with the operations team to continually improve product quality and process capability.
- Works globally with other plant quality managers on customer concerns and supplier issues.
- Trains, schedules, coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieves quality assurance objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans, insuring international standards, customer standards, and regulatory standards are meet, analyzing variances, initiating corrective action.
- Maintains and Improves product quality by utilizing the information the team has provided through product, company, system, compliance and surveillance audits. Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, capability studies, warranty, field returns, corrective actions, and customer issues.
- Works with purchasing staff to establish supplier quality performance and monitor supplier performance. Will conduct supplier audits to ensure their understanding of the specifications required and to ensure their QMS meets requirements.
- Ensures that the QMS is implemented, maintained and continual improved. Reports on the performance of the QMS and any need for improvement to top management.
- Keeps up to date on quality trends, by studying developments in quality management, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses, identifying critical control points and preventive measures, establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures.
- Performs other duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and five years of general management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Knowledge base of automotive and environmental standards Electrical/Mechanical Systems 6S Standards Automotive Core Tools
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in both an office setting and a manufacturing production environment. May require up to 25% Travel – Domestic and International.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
