Dynamic Minds Academy is looking for a passionate and dedicated teacher for our elementary classroom! Dynamic Minds Academy Partners with The Hope Source, a treatment center for Autism Spectrum Disorder, to provide a hybrid therapy and education model. THS provides Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) services to children diagnosed with ASD ranging in age 5-22+ years.

We are interviewing to place teachers at the elementary level for the 2022-2023 school year. Our low ratio, low stimulating environment paired with hands-on, project-based curriculum demands a creative and outside-the-box teacher. Our hybrid model of therapy and education provides an optimal environment for our client/student's challenges and learning styles.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach daily instructions in a flexible, inclusive program that meets both the academic and functional needs of the students.
  • Use a variety of instructional methodologies including learning styles, hands-on, and project based opportunities to match the needs of each student.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and limitations of the students.
  • Collaborate with other Dynamic Minds Academy Teachers on curriculum and classroom needs.
  • Collaborate with Hope Source therapy personal on behavior needs
  • Documenting student skill development and academic growth to assess short term and long term academic goal achievement.
  • Communicates respectfully and thoughtfully with parents/ guardians, remaining sensitive to different families, cultures, values and needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the Education field (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university or similar.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of successful teaching experience with cognitively impaired students, experience working specifically with individuals on the autistic spectrum preferred.
  • Valid Indiana Teaching License, Indiana Mild Intervention Special Education and/or Elementary license preferred or ability to apply for emergency permit or charter school license
  • Able to instruct students in a diverse and ever adapting environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with obstacles in a complex working environment.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
