Taj Campton Place is a luxury boutique hotel with 110 rooms and suites, a "see and be seen" bistro/bar, in-room dining and and over 3,000 sq feet of meeting space.
For close to hundred years, Taj Campton place has been a sanctuary for sophisticated and discerning business travelers visiting San Francisco. A historic site, the hotel marries two early twentieth-century buildings and has a classical European charm. This serene retreat is a short distance from the financial district, premier art galleries, renowned museums, and the city's best-known stores and restaurants.
The Engineer 2 is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and employees. To repair and maintain all hotel equipment and systems as necessary including but not limited to:
- perform preventive maintenance on all equipment
- take required reading on all equipment
- replace and program televisions as needed
- replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures
- perform furniture repair
- perform plumbing repairs (i.e., clogged drains, pipes, change handles, etc)
- mechanical
- electrical
- life & safety
- painting
- security duties, respond to hotel emergencies
- special maintenance projects
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to communicate professionally in English, both oral and written, with hotel guests and staff
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Taj Campton Place
- Two (2) years technical training and field experience in a hotel or building with similar requirements.
- Experience with HVAC refrigeration and plumbing required, knowledge of Kitchen & Laundry Equipment preferred
- Knowledge of internet systems
- Trade/vocation school or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, plumbing or HVAC
- Applicants with fire safety certification are preferred
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Ability to use any size ladder
- Ability to think clearly in emergency situations
- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently without permanent direct supervision
- Ability to perform tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
- Ability to safely and properly use hand & power tools
- Ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees.
