SUMMARY:
The Engineer I is primarily responsible for performing a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and equipment. The Job Title shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the SCP’s Culture & Core Values.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders, such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.
- Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g. "room care").
- Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacements.
- Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist with major repairs of all hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen equipment, boilers, HVAC, hand and power tools, and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets, sinks, and kitchen.
- Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.
• Respond courteously to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction. • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Effectively interact with department managers.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned.
- Ensure security, cleanliness, preventive maintenance and repair of engineering tools, equipment and safety features, according to established procedures and within budget.
• Promote sanitation, safety, security efforts, and guest services of the Hotel. • Follow hotel policy with lost/stolen items
- Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
- Participate on the Hotel’s Emergency Evacuation Team.
- High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a maintenance capacity. • Basic knowledge of repairing/replacing plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, refrigeration and kitchen equipment
- Basic knowledge of swimming pool maintenance and chemicals
- Experience working with heavy machinery and tools
- Exceptional guest-focus
• Fluency in other languages beneficial • Should possess thorough knowledge of OSHA. • Knowledge of the hospitality industry is preferred.
