The Town of Garner’s Engineering Department is actively recruiting for an Engineering Plan Reviewer. The successful individual will join our dedicated team and assist with the development process in Garner's quickly growing community!

This position will perform skilled and detailed professional work related to the review of engineering plans for private and public development projects for compliance with local, state and other applicable engineering regulations.

• Reviews new subdivision plans and land development projects for compliance with applicable ordinances, policies, and regulations - including regulations related to transportation, stormwater, accessibility, and the environment.
• Conducts survey plat review for engineering elements.
• Reviews performance bond estimates and documents, tracks completion of bond items for release.
• Attends Pre-Application development meetings, as needed.
• Attends Technical Review Committee (TRC) Meetings, as needed.
• Maintains engineering plans, records, and files for land development.
• Prepares and delivers correspondence necessary to the development review process.
• Tracks developer submittals and conditions of approval.
• Advises developers of regulations and policies; assists in resolving complaints.
• Performs related tasks as required.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate: a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering; ability to perform difficult engineering computations and to make comprehensive recommendations on engineering problems and planning; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, associates, contractors, and the general public; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to prepare technical reports; ability to update and maintain data based computer applications .

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or a minimum of 6 years experience in civil/site or related work.

Possession of a valid driver's license is also required.

Engineering Intern certification preferred.

The salary range shown is the full salary range for this position.
