The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will be required to perform functions to plan, manage, and direct occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene and risk management for the organization. Responsibilities encompass both Jersey Shore Steel Company locations: Jersey Shore and Montoursville PA. The person must be comfortable in a fast pace, dirty, hot, noisy, environment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Interpersonal relationship and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Develop, execute and track safety training programs in coordination with operations management team.
- Review, update, and implement safety policies, programs, and procedures
- Maintain necessary permits, logs, licenses
- Prepare and file reports, handle audits
- Manage workers compensation program
- Foster a positive, proactive safety culture through consistent presence of the manufacturing workforce
- Respond to all safety, health, and environmental issues within a timely manner and effectively through investigation of root cause analysis, corrective actions, near misses, and seek ways to improve the overall safety of all team members.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health or related field.
- Union Experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Responsible for 2 plants within 25 miles of each other with various shifts.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
