SECTOR OVERVIEW

Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil & gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking up to two permanent full-time Environmental Technicians to conduct pre-construction surveys, monitoring, prepare monitoring reports, work with construction crews to maintain compliance with permits and regulations as well as a variety of office-based work relating to various construction projects. The positions can be based out of our Clifton Park, Ithaca, Liverpool and West Seneca, NY offices with our Planning, Permitting and Licensing practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Conduct pre-construction surveys, construction monitoring, and prepare monitoring reports.
• Work with construction crews to maintain compliance with permits and regulations.
• Assure that erosion and sedimentation control measures are installed and maintained.
• Prepare and maintain reports relating to project compliance.
• Perform stormwater inspections.
• Abide by Company policies and procedures.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Forestry, Biology, Ecology or Related Field.
• Must have 2-5 years' experience in construction monitoring, compliance and environmental permitting.
• Excellent verbal communications and technical skills are mandatory, along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules.
• Willingness to work 5-6 days per week and 10 to 12-hour days outside in the elements on a rotating basis.
• Must have reliable transportation. However, company provided four-wheel drive vehicles are available for certain construction site visits.

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with utility or energy construction projects.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform environmental compliance and understand permitting regulations of applicable regulatory agencies in New York State.
• Other environmental related skills such as wetland delineation.
• Computer and or GIS/GPS skills.
• Ability to attain NYSDEC 4-hour stormwater certification.
