We are seeking anEnvironmental Project Coordinatorto join ourPermitting, Planning and Licensing(PPL) group and be part of a dynamic team of scientists, engineers, planners, and technical specialists in multiple other disciplines. The Environmental Project Coordinator will report to the TRC office in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The ideal candidate will support the planning and permitting for LUMA Energy electric transmission and distribution projects across Puerto Rico. This includes the coordination of field personnel, monitoring project progress, and ensuring that environmental requirements are being addressed by the field team. This individual will also work closely with TRC Program Leadership and LUMA Environmental Leadership and provide daily direction to the field team.

Key functions of this position include:

  • The Project Coordinator position will perform project coordination, resource management and scheduling expertise
  • This position is multi-faceted with responsibilities that include integrated planning, direct coordination, and scheduling of field work activities for multiple internal and external technical resources, schedule development and adherence, schedule. management, and schedule performance metrics.
  • Reviews scheduling progress, risks, and risk mitigation plans with the project team and leadership weekly or as required.
  • Plans, develops, and tracks multiple project work scopes daily & weekly, reviewing project schedule deliverables, schedule progress, project float, variance review, and resolution of resource constraints.
  • Assist with program and project management work
  • Scheduling and monitoring of project activities and progress of field teams
  • Assist with processing project documentation and workflow
  • Ongoing QA/QC of project monitoring databases
  • Support project execution including review of submitted project deliverables, milestones, invoices, and overall contract monitoring and management
  • Support ongoing metrics and measurement activities for contracted projects
  • Track ongoing contracted project performance to deliverables and financial milestones
  • Ensure correct and complete project documentation including interim and final reports, completed project summaries, and contractor assessments
  • General administrative support of project managers and contract managers
  • Follow up with TRC and LUMA leadership teams.
  • Review of environmental and municipal regulations to identify compliance requirements.
  • Development of agency consultation packages and coordination with regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills, including meeting facilitation.
Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, botany, forestry, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of post-degree experience in environmental consulting related to planning, permitting, or regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with federal and Puerto Rico environmental regulations.
  • Experience supporting power generation, including renewable energy, and energy transmission (e.g. transmission lines or pipelines).
  • Experience leading a team to execute a task or work scope (e.g., preparation of a permit application package or technical data report).
  • Ability to participate in meetings with clients or agencies with minimal supervision.
  • Perform well with minimum supervision.
  • Experience managing projects, developing project schedules, and managing project budgets.
  • Mentoring/training of junior level staff.
  • Experience performing environmental monitoring for construction projects.
