Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, PLLC (ICE) is one of the fastest growing full-service transportation consulting and design firms in the Southeast and Texas. We specialize in highways, bridges/structures, hydrology, and aviation design utilizing nearly 400 dedicated team members that take a results-driven approach to meeting the specific needs of our clients. We are currently accepting applications for an Environmental Specialist to join our team in the Atlanta, GA office.
Position Summary
  • This position will be responsible for environmental compliance support for various types of infrastructure construction projects administered by GDOT and other local municipalities; this specifically includes compliance in regards to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 404 permitting, and various state and local environmental requirements
  • This position will also support various tasks associated with wetland delineations, jurisdictional determinations, natural resources assessments, Section 404 permitting, NEPA documentation, and GA state environmental permits (i.e. 401 water quality certification, stream buffer variance, etc.)
  • Work in a team-oriented manner with other environmental staff, task managers and project managers in support of project delivery

Job Duties
  • Prepare, manage, and implement environmental compliance plans for various transportation projects
  • Review and interpret environmental commitments, permits, regulatory requirements in regard to permits and other environmental resources, including but not limited to NEPA document commitments, Section 404, and other state and local requirements
  • Conduct site inspections of active construction projects to ensure compliance; provide inspection reports, including action items and potential recommendations
  • Provide assistance in the development of USACE Section 404 permits and GA Environmental Protection Division (EPD) permits as needed
  • Assist in the various desktop research and field work efforts, including wetland delineation, natural resource assessments and specific project data collection
  • Provide support on the development of NEPA documentation, including impact analysis, exhibit productions, and public involvement
  • Interface with contractors, regulatory staff, and project owners

Requirements/Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Environmental Science or related degree preferred
  • GA EPD Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector
  • Experience in developing and managing stormwater pollution plans consistent with GA EPD NPDES construction general permit
  • Experience with developing and managing hazardous substance and petroleum products management plan consistent with ASTM E 1527- 05 for environmental site assessment
  • Experience with ArcView/ArcGIS is required
  • Strong MS Office skills required, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to perform field work under various conditions
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday with some weekend work as needed
