INTRODUCTION

Under the supervision of the Director of Telecom and Facilities Services, the Director of Telecom and Facilities Services is responsible for assuring the health centers are appropriately cleaned, maintained and staffed during a designated schedule.

MAJOR DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists in evaluating the cleanliness of the Community Health Centers on a routine basis.
• Assists in reviewing work orders and plans involving any health center environmental services/housekeeping needs.
• Assists in coordinating housekeeping services in conjunction with the Director of Telecom and Facilities Services.
• Assists in monitoring MSDS and OSHA compliance.
• Assists in monitoring the work quality of the environmental services associates.
• Assists in ordering and delivering appropriate environmental services supplies.
• Assists in the implementation and evaluation of a quality improvement plan for department.
• Keeps abreast of and attends seminars on revisions and changes to various standards and codes in compliance with OSHA, EPA and other regulatory agencies.
• Assists with cleaning activities of the CHC as directed and scheduled.
• Assists with coordinating work schedules and work as needed at Unity special events (i.e., health fairs, weekend events).
• Provides leadership of environmental services in the absence of the Director of Telecom and Facilities Services.
• Coordinates deep cleaning after environmental accidents at sites such as floods, spills, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in comparable setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Knowledge of all phases of medical environmental services.
• Knowledge of life safety codes, OSHA Standards, construction codes, and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience with using good judgment in working with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities.
• Ability to articulate the mission of Unity Health Care through his/her work.
• Subject to calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

This position reports to the Director of Facilities, Access Control and EVS.
