About the Role:
- Develop policies, set program goals, and ensure appropriate programs and processes are implemented to support the ongoing development and execution of the company’s environmental strategy and the mitigation of risks to consumers, workers, and the environment.
- As the subject matter expert, collaborate with relevant Oxford and Brand teams including Sustainability, Production, Sourcing, Product Development, Materials, Design, Trade Compliance, and Legal to drive awareness and results within key environmental sustainability issue areas.
- Manage Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) process, including providing education and guidance, setting supplier compliance targets, and developing remediation plans for suppliers who do not meet targets.
- Oversee the implementation of a chemicals management program, including implementing ZDHC’s MRSL and Supplier to Zero program, developing and providing supplier education and guidance, remediation planning, and supporting a transition to greener chemistry.
- Develop and maintain preferred fiber and product claims guidance, implement processes for gathering data to validate sustainability claims, and contribute to brand communications related to responsible product portfolios across Oxford’s brands.
- Maintain expertise in environmental laws, regulations, standards, reporting requirements, and awareness of industry landscape.
- Support public reporting obligations (SEC disclosures, Higg BRM, annual reports for membership organizations, etc.), external communications like Oxford’s Corporate Responsibility report and Brand websites, and internal communications to optimize enterprise-wide awareness and engagement.
- Engage with relevant industry associations and member organizations like the American Apparel & Footwear Association, Sustainable Apparel Coalition, and Textile Exchange to benchmark and ensure compliance with membership requirements and regulatory and risk changes.
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers.
- Evaluate and implement relevant supplier environmental impact reduction programs, especially related to water stewardship, energy management, and other critical GHG reduction activities.

Who we would like to meet:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Graduate degree preferred, ideally in sustainability, environmental science, textile/materials science, chemical engineering, or related field.
- Generally, 8+ years of sustainability, chemicals management, or other related experience, preferably within an apparel brand and in a supplier-facing role
- With a Graduate degree - Generally, 5+ years of sustainability, chemicals management, or other related experience, preferably within an apparel brand and in a supplier-facing role
- Strong business acumen with proven ability to integrate sustainability strategies and initiatives into core business operations to support brand priorities and drive ESG impact
- Deep knowledge of global environmental laws and reporting frameworks, preferably as they relate to the apparel industry
- Exceptional project management skills: adept at planning and managing multi-stakeholder initiatives and solving problems/removing obstacles to get work done/drive execution.
- Passionate about understanding the customer and how sustainability strategies enable organizations to better anticipate and meet changing customer needs; demonstrated ability to leverage real-time customer insight and analysis to drive customer-centric outcomes/innovation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
