Supports the evaluation and analysis of corporate business opportunities and issues as directed by Manager, Senior Analysts, Director and/or Chief Financial Officer. Strives to meet departmental goals & objectives, as well as ad hoc financial analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of the revenue cycle, auditing/reconciliation methodologies, data collection and analysis, financial modeling
  • Creating generation of ad hoc, daily, and monthly Epic reports
  • Ensuring relevant analysis is provided in a timely fashion to Revenue operations leadership as well as leaders of practice sites (Practice Managers, Operational Directors, Department Chairs, Division Chiefs) to assist improvement of the revenue cycle
  • Subjects to be included in the analysis include, but not limited to: review of revenue cycle metrics/standard reports, trends in charge review, claim edit, rejections, and write off data
  • Ensures accuracy and integrity of all financial, operational, and statistical data at all times
  • Independently identifies, researches, and validates significant data ‘outliers’, follow up to resolve issues where necessary
  • Identifies trends and suggests opportunities for improvement in financial or operational performance for senior and middle management
  • Clearly and concisely summarizes data using appropriate reporting and format
  • Performs routine analysis, as well as completes ad-hoc requests received from management
  • Continuously work to automate processes and eliminate unnecessary reports and redundancy
  • Consistently audits and cross-reference reports to ensure data consistency, accuracy and integrity
  • Maintain current documentation of all routine processes in central location
  • Meets distribution schedule at all times
  • Supports Manager, Senior Analysts and Director in managing departmental workload. Cross-train other Financial Analysts in job functions
  • Complies with health and safety requirements and with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc.
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc.
  • Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed
  • Regular, reliable and predicable attendance

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience performing healthcare or financial analytics
  • Experience with Epic Clarity, Epic Hyperspace, or Epic Caboodle or other EMR systems
  • Intermediate SQL experience
  • Expert level in Excel

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
