The epidemiologist will be responsible for assisting with management, epidemiologic leadership and dissemination of findings for multiple aspects of the NIH-funded Reducing Disparities in Access to KidNey Transplantation (RaDIANT) Studies with a focus on clinical epidemiology, social determinants of health, and health services research methods.
Project areas will likely include leading novel data collection, analyzing data and presenting findings, collaboration with internal team members and external collaborators to implement study aims, and developing novel health care quality metrics. The assistant epidemiologist should be comfortable analyzing a variety of research datasets (national surveillance and administrative data as well as regionally collected data), contributing to study design, data cleaning, data management and analysis using statistical software (e.g., SAS and/or R). The epidemiologist will also provide analytical support for presentations, abstract and peer-reviewed manuscripts, and grant writing. The work environment is a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, behavioral scientists, and data scientists.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Manage the study team for the multi-regional, NIH-funded Reducing Disparities in Access to KidNey Transplantation (RaDIANT) Study, which seeks to address inequities in access to kidney transplantation.
- Assist Dr. Patzer in expanding research in improving data collection and quality in kidney disease and conducting large, pragmatic interventions in the Southeastern U.S. and nationally, and evaluating health policies with the intent to improve equity in access to transplantation.;
- Co-lead the Transplant Outcomes research team by further aligning and determining strategic goals, designing special projects, and mentoring junior team members in epidemiologic methods;
- Collaborate with other faculty and coinvestigators across Schools (e.g., School of Medicine, School of Public Health, etc) to plan and develop publications and general dissemination of research findings
- Contribute to grant proposals, protocols, data management and analysis plans, reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presentation of study findings at scientific conferences
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A doctoral degree in a field related to area of research or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
