Equipment Compliance & Office Support - Part Time
Job description
The Weld County Treasurer's Office is looking for a Part-Time, Compliance Agent who will inspect construction equipment for motor vehicle registration for compliance with Colorado statutory regulations. Works with both the Weld County Clerk and Recorder Motor Vehicle and Weld County Treasurer’s offices on compliance concerns. Posts manufactured home and personal property distraint and seizure notices and signage as directed by the Treasurer’s office. Supports Treasurer staff with mail processing as needed.
Part-time, 20 hours per week. May work 20 hrs/wk around Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please note that this position will require to work 40 hours/wk in the office during peak time.

$20.35 - $25.77 per hour plus benefits (see benefits tab on the job posting). The position will normally start at $20.35 per hour.

Travel to construction sites in Weld County with County provided vehicle; communicate verbally with site representative regarding compliance inquiry.
Check construction equipment for registration compliance.
Complete and print the required report form to identify the specific violation of any equipment not in compliance; Retain original form for Treasurer’s office records and provide copy of the violation form to equipment owner or owner’s representative; Follow up after 30 days to ensure registration compliance; Provide required notice if equipment owner has not complied with registration requirements.
Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written information. Ability to compose simple correspondence. Ability to present information verbally and/or in writing. Ability to understand and follow written or oral instructions.
Use a laptop or tablet to create forms and print forms for posting on site. Take pictures with a county provided smart phone. Save documents to department network drive.
Frequently sit while driving, up to 120 miles per day. Frequently stand and/or walk up to one mile per day on rough, wet or icy surfaces.
Physically post all Manufactured/Mobile Home Distraints and deliver Personal Property Distraints. Lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to lift 28-pound post driver overhead and operate post driver to place T-Post in ground for posting notices on properties.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include visual acuity to Colorado driver's license requirements.
Assist Treasurer’s office with mail processing as needed, including use of mail opening machine.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Compliance Agent or Peace Officer experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to use a laptop or tablet to create forms and print forms for posting on site. Ability to take pictures with a county provided smart phone.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information verbally and/or in writing in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving limited variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Basic experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and use of shared network drives
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have valid Colorado Driver's License, a reliable and insured vehicle, and are you able to travel throughout Weld County.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must be able to pass a background check and be able to hold the position of a civil deputy prior to employment. Employee must continue to maintain civil deputy qualification during employment.
