Great Valley Advisor Group (“GVA”) is looking to add an Equity, ETFs, and MFs Trader to their growing Asset Management team. In this position, your responsibilities include performing trading functions, such as new account setup, portfolio rebalancing, and monitoring, daily report reviews, and managing various trading workflows.

The functions are time sensitive, highly analytical, and require high attention to detail. The position requires effective communication skills, workflow management, and the ability to work with different advisors and their offices.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the title Manager, Trading & Operations, you can expect to display competency in the following areas:

Performing daily trading functions:

  • Rebalance accounts, process trade requests, and swap trades
  • Set up new accounts for trading within the Enhanced Trading & Rebalancing System
  • Upload asset allocation percentages to the Enhanced Trading Platform
  • Implement allocation or cash management changes within client accounts
  • Review of daily reports such as margin balances and new deposits, taking trading action as required
  • Ensuring accuracy of trade execution through the LPL Financial platform, primarily involving mutual funds, ETFs, and individual stocks
  • Work with LPL Financial trade desk to ensure timely verification and execution of all trades

Provide trading and investment analysis support to Advisors and their offices, with guidance from the Chief Investment Officer and Investment Committee:

  • Alert the appropriate team member(s) to trading issues with client portfolios and partner to resolve them in a timely manner
  • Manage account restrictions and gain/loss analysis for new accounts
  • Research, analyze, and resolve trading issues
  • Educate Advisor Offices on trading protocols and best practices
  • Manage cyclical trading workflow events (RMDs, Trade Requests, DCA, Objective/Model Changes, etc.)
  • Create and implement solutions to complex scenarios with other members of the Trading Team
  • Monitor performance, review and maintain fact sheets in Orion, and review dynamic benchmarks

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Prepare proposals for new accounts using platforms such as Riskalyze
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related degree. Alternative fields of study will be considered
  • 1 – 3 years of trading experience, preferably in an RIA environment
  • LPL Financial trading experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with LPL’s Enhanced Trading and Rebalancing software preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce, Orion Advisor Services, Riskalyze, and/or Morningstar Workstation preferred
  • Strong, highly developed analytical skills
  • A high degree of attention to detail
  • Demonstrate professional, ethical, and courteous conduct in responsibilities and dealings with clients, prospects, COIs, colleagues, and other business entities with which Great Valley Advisor Group has a relationship
