ETL Developer/SQL Programmer - Information Systems
Job description
Job Summary:
Administers, maintains, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company’s SQL databases. Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, synchronization, replication, and other distributed data issues. Assist with developing, reviewing, and testing database objects and stored procedures using advanced programming techniques. Responsible for creating SQL reports, Stored Procedures, SQL Replication, ETL/SSIS packages, API Call processes, and other data requests as needed. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the labor market industry and security concepts. Works directly with clients and technical staff to support the company’s applications and operational data needs. Works directly with developers and technical support personnel to anticipate and plan for productive data access, security and utilization. Create and maintain accurate documentation. Plan and design the most effective way to implement emerging database technologies on a case-by-case basis. Maintain daily database backup processes and disaster recovery/business continuance plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, install, document, manage and maintain staging, test and production databases for maximum performance, scalability, flexibility, and reliability
- Review and approve all proposed changes to database schema, tables, stored procedures, user-defined functions, SSRS reports, etc.
- Analyze and recommend database improvements
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies
- Collect data in order to evaluate and optimize DBMS performance
- Monitor system resource utilization and trending for future capacity planning
- Install, test and maintain DBMS and application software including patches, fixes and version upgrades
- Develop, manage and test database and information system backup and recovery plans
- Design and implement processes and procedures to reduce and eliminate database outages and downtime
- Monitor and support transactional replication
- Design, implement and maintain database security strategies that provide the appropriate level of security for users and applications
- Ensure appropriate security and privacy measures are implemented on technology solutions to protect company data from intentional or accidental misuse
- Manage and audit database permissions and access
- Implement and maintain database security and encryption
- Analyze query plans and tune application performance by optimizing SQL code
- Monitor database logs for hardware, memory or disk space/capacity issues and take appropriate action
- Stay current on the latest technology trends and innovation to provide insight into strategic and tactical decisions as needed
Job Requirements:
Requires undergraduate degree with course work in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Requires a minimum of three years of prior experience as a SQL Database Administrator and/or ETL Developer.
Hours:
Full-Time; 8 AM - 5 PM
Monday - Friday
Pay Range:
$69,700 - $103,700

Required- Bachelor's Degree or better in Computer Science or related field
