Improve Your Tomorrow, Inc. (IYT) is a college access and completion organization focused on increasing the number of young men of color to attend and graduate from colleges and universities. IYT’s vision is a nation where young men of color are overrepresented in higher education, underrepresented in the criminal justice system and are leaders in their communities. IYT is an AmeriCorps partner organization serving over 3,500 members across more than 60 sites in Sacramento County, Humboldt County, Yolo County, Central Valley, Bay Area and college students across the nation.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Research & Evaluation, the Evaluation Manager is responsible for providing professional support for IYT’s programs and services performing evaluation, research, analysis, writing, and project coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Manages survey deployment, collection, data analysis, and reporting.
- Will run regression analysis to analyze program impacts on IYT members.
- Designs evaluation plans for internal and external projects and programs.
- Serves as point of contact for emerging evaluation needs related to program quality and effectiveness across core services and special programs and initiatives.
- Develops new and improves existing research and evaluation tools.
- Conducts interviews and focus groups.
- Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to answer research and evaluation questions.
- Collaborates with internal staff and external funders or clients to respond appropriately to evaluation needs.
- Contributes to reports to funders, conference presentations, and publication.
- Organizes and maintains research and evaluation data using Salesforce and/or other evaluation databases.
- Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s or doctorate degree in quantitative data focused field including but not limited to economics, data science, program evaluation, public policy, or related field required
- Minimum of 3 years of quantitative focused research/evaluation on California’s K-12 or higher education system
- Strong quantitative analytical background including familiarity with regression analysis and other statistical methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and an interest in continued knowledge of technology as it evolves
- Experience in operating within a database (STATA, SPSS, Salesforce etc.)
- Ability to work alone and as part of a large research team
- Have a keen eye for detail and organization
- Desire to perform accurate and ethical research to achieve results for studies
- Skills in assessing program effectiveness, preferably in higher education or professional
- development
- Experience Conducting interviews, focus groups and analyzing qualitative data
- Experience presenting research and evaluation findings to academic and professional audience
- Believe in the mission, vision, and values of IYT
- Knows and can successfully articulate the organization and program mission, vision, and values to other stakeholders and collaborators
Education
Master’s or doctorate degree in quantitative data focused field including but not limited to economics, data science, program evaluation, public policy, or related field required
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, some weekends and evenings.
Location: This position is based in Sacramento at IYT Headquarters
Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary of $80,000 to $90,000 per year commensurate with experience. Benefits include vision, health, dental, 403(b) retirement with 3% employer match after one year of employment, 2 weeks of accrued paid vacation and paid time off for school breaks.
