World Challenge, Inc. was founded by Reverend David Wilkerson in 1971 and served as a corporate umbrella for his worldwide crusades, ministers' conferences, book and tract publication, video production, street evangelism, literature distribution, church planting, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers and many charitable outreaches. Today, World Challenge Inc. shares the message of the gospel through mission outreaches and literature distribution. Sermons from David Wilkerson and his son Gary are shared monthly through the Pulpit Series newsletter to hundreds of thousands of people. The numerous mission outreaches of World Challenge to the poor include orphanages, overseas widows’ fund, emergency/disaster relief, healthcare/clinics, community development and feeding centers. Gary Wilkerson became president of World Challenge in 2010 and moves forward with the same heart and vision as his father.

Job purpose*
This position provides executive-level administrator support to the President and the Chief Operations Officer (COO). It consists of a wide variety of administrative tasks as well as managing two complex calendars of meetings, conferences and events, and some social media. This person will operate at a high level of independence and responsibility and must exercise proper judgement and discretion in the handling of sensitive and confidential matters. Interacts with the executive team and other internal staff to manage and accomplish the President’s and COO’s objectives.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range
  • Between $55,000 and $65,000 a year based on qualifications and experience.
  • Sign-on Bonus - $2,000
  • $1,000 paid at the end of 30-days of employment
  • $1,000 paid at the end of 6-months employment

Duties and responsibilities

  • Greets, hosts, and directs visitors to the World Challenge office executive suite.
  • Maintains executives’ calendars/appointment schedules by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
  • Coordinates meetings and events with internal and external constituents.
  • Organizes and assists with meetings and events initiated by the executive leadership team.
  • Coordinates national and international travel arrangements to include itinerary development, modes of travel, accommodations, travel restrictions, and other associated administrative and logistical requirements.
  • Provides in-depth Board of Directors (BOD) support; prepares agendas, distributes materials, assists BOD with travel and other arrangements; drafts BOD meeting minutes and maintains all BOD related correspondence.
  • Reconciles monthly credit card/expense report by tracking expenses and keeping appropriate receipts, invoices, and other related documents.
  • Formats information for internal and external communication such as memos, emails, presentations, reports, and social media.
  • Maintains strong and constructive working relationships with World Challenge staff, board of directors, constituents, and ministry partners.
  • Performs other administrative tasks and special projects as directed.

Qualifications

  • Agreement with and commitment to the World Challenge Faith Statement
  • High School Degree required, AA or BA degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working for a senior level executive and board of directors preferred
  • Previous non-profit ministry experience preferred
  • Superior organizational, written and verbal communication, and strong interpersonal relations to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Professional skills to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically and to recognize and protect confidential information
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF/Adobe; ability to learn other related databases, software, and office equipment
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills

Working conditions
This role’s normal business hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be some evening and weekend work required on an infrequent basis to support events or meetings. There may also be infrequent local travel involved to support the President’s & COO’s activities.
Physical requirements
This role requires no heavy lifting and is normally performed in a climate controlled office environment. The employee is allowed appropriate time for breaks and lunch.
