Host(ess)/Cashier

Part-Time positions available in Beach Glass Cafe, and Fine Dining Clearwater.

Pay: $17.75 per hour

General Position Summary: Provides guest service by properly seating guests at their table(s), cleans dining areas and assists Food and Beverage staff as needed.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Sees to all of the needs of the dining guests by providing clearly superior customer service
• Ability to learn and follow the room rotation system for seating guests
• Assists in keeping the host/hostess area clean and organized
• Actively practices the customer service standards
• Makes all cash transactions, give change and cashing out till
• Assists coworkers with rolling silverware and other assigned side work duties
• Serves alcohol to guest
• Other duties deemed necessary
• Assist other staff as requested

Specific Job Skills:

• Organized and able to carry out tasks at direction of supervisor/(manager)
• Excellent customer service experience
• Good math skills
• Understanding of food preparation, storage and safety
• Able to communicate well with both guests and employees
• Able to work well with others, cooperative and friendly
• Must be 18 years of age

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED. One (1) year of experience in Food and Beverage industry. Food handlers card required (and the ability to obtain a WA State Alcohol Servers Permit)

Job Scope: Performs duties with supervision, operating from established policies and procedures. Makes decisions according to the direction of the Restaurant Manager and the Assistant Restaurant Manager, or Supervisor. Position may require some independent decision-making. Has access to dining work areas and break room.

Job Conditions: Working conditions include working in dining areas during busy times of the day and night in smoky, noisy and crowded conditions. Conditions will also include frequent interruptions, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lb. while standing, twisting, or bending. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Manual and finger dexterity for handling serving dishes, and other equipment.
