SUMMARY
Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a Construction Planner. The role of the Construction Planner is to develop a plan to complete a construction project based on budget, work schedule and available resources under general direction of the Facilities Construction Manager. Performs work in the management and coordination of construction projects for renovation of existing facilities; the management and coordination of mechanical/electrical engineering projects for renovation of existing facilities; and the management and coordination of interior design projects for renovation of existing facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical services and coordinate construction projects for remodeling and repair of existing facilities
- Monitor consultant performance as related to project development and implementation
- Coordinate development, review, and approve of architectural program requirements, project design and construction contract documents to assure satisfaction of program and quality requirements
- Prepare project budgets and cost estimates
- Maintain project funding reports, review change order requests and other contract sums
- Monitor construction, advise consultants, and inform user department(s) of changes affecting quality, completion date and cost
- Perform daily site inspections of construction and renovations projects.
- Review inspection, testing and other construction reports
- Prepare summaries of project status, coordinate final completion and assists in development and execution of punch list items and final inspection
- Incorporate sustainable guidelines throughout project development
- Coordinate selection, purchase, delivery and installation of furnishings and equipment
- Assist in developing feasibility studies, cost studies and technical specifications for design, construction, operation or maintenance modifications of facilities.
- Provide technical (environmental) services on construction and remodeling contracts, including budget and federal and state reporting
- Oversee abatement or other environmental contracts and review reports
- Ensure Infection Prevention Standards/Requirements are maintained
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an academic area related to position specialization (Construction, Architecture or Engineering)
OR
- An approved equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- CAD or Revit experience
