The Genesee Foundation, a self-managed homeowners’ association for the larger Genesee community, in the foothills of Jefferson County, Colorado, is seeking a dynamic, personable, self-motivated, action-oriented Facilities Maintenance Technician.

Genesee exists in harmony with the area's mountain setting and 1,200 acres of dedicated open space, 12 miles of hiking trails, forest land, and abundant wildlife, with amenities including three clubhouses, one playground, two outdoor pools, four tennis courts, a well-equipped fitness center, 2 pickle ball courts, and miles of trails and private drives.

The Facilities maintenance technician reports to the Facilities Manager and Community Manager

TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

REPORTS TO Facilities Manager

POSITION LEVEL: Non Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

GENERAL PURPOSE

To direct all maintenance programs on commonly owned facilities and property to ensure the preservation, enhancement, and protection of all Genesee Foundation assets.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine, preventive and risk management activities to meet the above stated purpose for all facilities including but not limited to clubhouses, recreational facilities, open space, roads, vehicles, signage and mailboxes.
  • Participate in all employee safety programs and conduct business in such a manner that it will comply with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Assist as needed in the Open Space management programs.
  • Assist in capital projects as requested.
  • Maintain tennis courts, landscaping areas, sidewalks.
  • Setup/tear down for clubhouse events and activities.
  • Work as a member of maintenance staff including snow plowing.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance.
  • Construction/repairs of mailbox structures, street signs, road signs and trail signs
  • Pool Maintenance

WORKING CONDITIONS

Material and equipment directly used: All hand and power tools, chainsaw, snowplow, chemicals, pool equipment, tractor, crack filler, personal computer. Working environment: Office, computer, shop, all tools and business vehicle provided. Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Work is hands on and involves heavy lifting and endurance. Must be on call during snow season as well as designated weekends in summer. Must work July 4th.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Pool Operator or ability to become certified shortly upon employment.
  • Three years in general construction or property maintenance
  • Working knowledge of pools, small engine repair, carpentry, electrical and HVAC. Welding and snow plowing preferred.
  • Ability to lift 80+ lbs.
  • Experience working in community associations or complexes

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school graduate
  • Experience in general construction or property maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of pools, small engine repair, carpentry, electrical and HVAC. Welding and snow plowing preferred.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office 365
  • Colorado Driver’s license. Out of state must obtain in 30 days
  • Clean motor vehicle record
  • 4 wheel drive vehicle

Job Type: Full-Time

Wage commensurate with experience. Range: $25-$31/hour. The selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background check. Full-time employees may be eligible for the medical, dental and vision plans the 3rd month of employment. Ten paid holidays a year, professional development assistance. After one year, employees may be eligible for a simplified employee pension plan.
