Blue Origin, LLC. is a privately owned aerospace company developing technologies that will establish an enduring human presence in space. We are in search of a Facilities Engineer/Planner III who will join our team of facility coordinators, equipment engineers, technicians and construction specialists. This team is chartered with maintaining the overall facility, planning and performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and unplanned servicing of facility systems and manufacturing equipment. Highly motivated individuals interested in space development are invited to apply to our Seattle-based group.
As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will share responsibilities for maintaining all facilities and equipment, including major systems (HVAC, sprinkler and fire detection, security, lighting control, electrical, communication, plumbing, back up power systems, compressed air) and other major equipment. This team is chartered with planning and performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and unplanned servicing of facility systems and manufacturing equipment. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities

Support the continued use and improvement of the CMMS preventive maintenance program (Maximo) for our properties.

Perform maintenance and/or repairs of facilities and equipment in-house or serve as the focal point for contracted efforts, as necessary.

Act as the general contractor on major facilities projects, performing functions such as soliciting and evaluating bids, reviewing work efforts, and managing to schedule.

Serve as interface with outside system suppliers, including security, fire suppression, HVAC, elevators, cranes, compressors, backflows, mobile equipment, fleet vehicles, etc.

Organize shop and facility supplies so that they are easily accessible. Coordinate efforts with shop personnel and others, as needed.

Assist with the definition and expansion of Blue Origin facilities as necessary.

Coordinate with project leads on mobilization and demobilization of equipment as needed. Coordinate with outside suppliers for the rental or purchase of equipment as needed.

Provide general technical and mechanical support on an as needed basis.

Source, order, and confirm receipt of project materials as needed.
Qualifications:

This position requires at least 3-5 years of relevant practical experience in industrial facilities management.

Working knowledge of CMMS systems and daily workflow use.

Applicants should have knowledge of industrial facility infrastructure.

Applicants should be familiar with industrial safety.

Applicants must be strong subcontractor managers.

This position requires technical and manufacturing skills, but also a creative and flexible attitude.

Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, project and power point programs. Experience with Maximo a plus.
