Shift/Hours/Location: M-F, 8am-5pm, Onsite, Milwaukie, OR

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

• Perform all shipping and receiving duties in a timely manner including the shipping of regulated chemicals/waste.
• Communicate and coordinate the shipping and receipt of items with onsite staff and other internal departments (e.g., Accounting, Shipping/Logistics).
• Schedule, package and label all outgoing chemicals/waste to meet applicable carrier and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, IATA, IMDG).
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all support services vendors and logistics providers.
• Monitor and inspect onsite building systems (e.g., DI water system, HVAC system) and perform basic maintenance tasks.
• Communicate and coordinate facility maintenance activities with MLI Facilities group, external contractors, and site staff (e.g., attend weekly Facilities team meetings).
• Perform and document routine testing and inspections of safety equipment (e.g., emergency safety showers, fire extinguishers).
• Schedule preventative maintenance for facilities and equipment.
• Track and maintain inventory of various office and lab supplies (e.g., PPE, breakroom supplies, labels).
• Oversee and schedule work performed by cleaning crews and external contractors.
• Secure quotes and setup purchase orders for services provided by external contractors.
• Monitor the storage of gases and schedule/oversee gas deliveries as necessary.
• Serve as the site Training Coordinator by monitoring team member training records, reviewing SEDs, scheduling training classes and attending monthly MLI training coordinator meetings.
• Ensure employee training is documented and records are retained per MLI retention policy.
• Perform various administrative tasks including maintaining and tracking documentation (e.g., waste manifests, safety shoe vouchers, personnel evacuation lists, visitors log).
• Support the EHSS Operations Manager (ARC) to achieve EHSS/ARC departmental goals.
• Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance of the facility.
• Participate in monthly Safety Committee/EHS meetings.
• Communicate and coordinate with IT to ensure that company equipment is distributed and returned as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as directed as this list is not all inclusive.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong administrative, time management and organizational skills required.
• Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
• Working knowledge of arithmetic and grammar.
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and supportively with a broad range of individuals with different levels of education and experience.
• Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in order to meet established deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate as a team.
• Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

PPREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of related experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree or Associate of Arts Degree in Sciences preferred.
• Experience packaging and shipping hazardous materials strongly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is occasionally loud. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
