FACILITY CAPTAIN
- The Facility Captain shall retrieve appropriate keys, receive all pertinent information from the previous shift Facility Captain.
- The captain will disseminate any pertinent information regarding the facility and its daily operation to the Lieutenants and security contract personnel.
- The Facility Captain on duty will respond to all fire alarms and will ensure the scene is safe prior to resetting the alarm.
- The Facility Captain shall see each segregated detainee daily, including weekends and holidays.
- Any disciplinary actions towards the detainee(s) will be addressed by the supervisor.
- The captain will also ensure that all the proper documentation is completed and accurate and will proofread the report for grammar, mechanics, and any errors.
- Once the packet has been verified for accuracy and completeness, it will be forwarded to the SDDO for corrective action.
- The shift supervisor will adhere to proper protocol and procedures outlined in the 3.1 Disciplinary System.
- The Facility Captain will assign an officer to conduct a perimeter check during the shift.
- The Facility Captain shall conduct post checks throughout the facility.
- During the hours of 1800-0600, ensure the Control Center Officer conducts security checks (10-18) every half hour and verify they are annotated in the Control Center Officer Logbook.
- Once relieved by the oncoming Facility Captain, pass on all pertinent information.
