Summary

This position is responsible for supervising and monitoring the use of athletic facilities and programs.
Hours vary but are typically evenings and weekends. Some morning shifts are available. Part-time position with no more than 950 hours annually (approximately 18 hours per week)

Essential Functions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Open and monitor facility, greet participants, and enforce rules and regulations
  • Inspect facility and report needed repairs and/or damages
  • Perform routine maintenance as qualified and is appropriate.
  • Provide information to the public regarding programs and activities at the facility
  • Set up facility for events
  • Monitor and supervise staff during events
  • Administer first aid and CPR/AED as necessary
  • Complete and turn in all report forms and score sheets
  • Close and secure facility
  • Operate game clock and keep scorebook
  • Umpire or referee games
  • Carries out job duties in a safe manner in accordance with all Town, department and regulatory policies; follows safety procedures. Identifies unsafe situations and work hazards, corrects them if possible, and reports them to their supervisor.
  • Update program related information via social media, weather hotlines and other communication systems as appropriate
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Facility Monitor may supervise other staff, volunteers, interns, participants, and game officials.
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of town and department policies and procedures
Knowledge of sports rules and regulations
Knowledge of department rules and regulations
Knowledge of first aid and CPR administration
Ability to:
Skill in observing large groups and enforcing rules
Skill in oral and written communication
Work Environment:
The work is performed indoors and outdoors.
Physical Demands:
The work is typically performed while sitting with intermittent standing, walking, running, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light to moderately heavy objects and may require driving town and/or personal vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the job.
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Requires the ability to perform job duties at various job sites and commit to schedule.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months experience related to facility monitoring
  • Minimum 6 months experience in supervisory role.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR and First Aid - (required within 60 days of employment).

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $13.50 - $16.50 per hour
