Person Directed Supports is a Human Services Agency who supports Individuals with Intellectual disabilities. We are looking for a facility specialist to help maintain healthy and safe enviroments for the people we support.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent if preferred. Basic experience in home maintenance such as but not limited to: changing light bulbs, changing batteries in smoke detectors, changing door knobs, painting, clearing obstructed toilets and sink/bathtub drains, etc. Basic computer skills: typing, Microsoft Word, Microsoft excel.

LICENSES/CERTICATION: Valid PA driver’s license with good driving record and auto insurance is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: As a PDSI team member, you represent PDSI. While you are on the job, PDSI expects you to wear clothing and accessories that are appropriate in a professional business environment and act and speak in a respectful manner.

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES: Inside and outside work in all types of weather. Medium to heavy work requiring prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and lifting to a maximum of 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift heavy equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Residential and commercial properties.

BASIC PURPOSE: Performs various basic maintenance, both proactively and reactively duties necessary to maintain and enhance the living environment of everyone being supported. Works as a team participant along with the Facility Department to ensure the community meets the quality maintenance standards set by Co-Director of Facilities, regulations, and Person Directed Supports, Inc. management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Creates/promotes a culture centered on building self-directed lives with the people we support.

· Proactively prepares and assists in ensuring all locations are homelike, safe, and in compliance with all regulations.

· Assists/coordinated facility inventory and/or supplies

· Moves heavy objects as requested.

· Assists with moving supported individuals from one home to another.

· Proactively and reactively performs minor maintenance duties. These functions may include, but are not limited to:

Light Bulb Changes Caulking Battery changes

Filter Changes Painting Cleaning

Door knob replacements Preventative Maintenance Moving of Furniture

Install/Repair Window Coverings Carpet cleaning HVAC filter changes

· Assist in keeping the grounds and common area free of trash and debris.

· Works closely with management and other maintenance staff in developing an integral team that effectively represents the quality and professionalism of Person Directed Supports, Inc.

· Consistently maintains a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with people being supported, co-workers, and the general public, at all time, on or off the property.

· Work within expense limits established.

· Assist with special projects as directed by the Co-Director of Facilities.

· Proactively repairs/replace items as needed.

· Assist with verifying maintenance items completion via Facilitron application or other designated means.

· Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.

· Complete payroll timesheets and mileage reimbursements and submit to supervisor as determined.

· Maintain a professional courteous manner.

· Assure safety standards are used which comply with all agency, local, City, County, State and Federal guidelines and regulations.

· Ensure compliance of all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.

· Follow established agency policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook.

· Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined

· Attends and participated in training seminars as requested.

· Assists other staff member as needed.

· Delivers various communications to the people being supported.

· Attends and assists in setting up for functions and activities.

· Drives motorized vehicles on or off property for Person Directed Supports, Inc.

· Emergency backup for snow removal: hand shoveling and using snow blower.

· Performs other duties as assigned by Person Directed Supports, Inc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.63 per hour
