As pioneers of the VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) Therapy® system, LivaNova continues to advance medical device solutions for patients affected by Drug-Resistant Epilepsy (DRE) and Difficult-to-Treat Depression (DTD). Whether you are an experienced Biomedical Engineer/Nurse or a professional Field Clinical Engineer, get the opportunity to work in the OR collaborating with top surgeons in the implantation of our VNS Therapy System, a medical device that is FDA-approved for the treatment of refractory epilepsy!
Our Field Clinical Engineer is a highly trained subject matter expert designed to educate and train surgeons on the surgical implantation and OR troubleshooting of the Vagus Nerve Therapy System. As an FCE working for LivaNova, you will be a part of a small, high-functional team, working collaboratively, looked upon as the expert in training and surgical support, a true leader of an elite Medical Device Swat Team.
While underlying knowledge of the VNS Therapy System is not necessary right away, it is important for the FCE to be able to work with subject matter experts in order to determine the real needs and to be able to become subject matter experts themselves in a relatively short period of time. This is an independent, multi-disciplined and flexible working environment.
Minimum Qualifications
The Field Clinical Engineer must have a Biomedical Engineer or Nursing Degree with a clinical technical background or experience in an operating room environment. Top Field Clinical Engineer within LivaNova will have working experience in Medical Device and/or one or more years’ experience working directly with surgeons in an operating room environment. Communication is key for our FCE, must have excellent written, verbal and non-verbal skills. Travel in this role is 100%.
