West Coast Wound & Skin Care, a leading California-based wound and skin care provider, has an outstanding opportunity in San Diego for a Medical Assistant.

***This position is mobile. MUST LIVE IN SAN DIEGO & BE A CERTIFIED MA***

Responsibilities

Accurately and thoroughly documenting medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by providers, including but not limited to:

• Patient medical history and physical exam
• Procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
• Patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up
• Prepare referral letters as directed by the physician
• Spot mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation and correct the information in order to reduce errors.
• Collect, organize and catalog data for physician quality reporting system quality improvement
• Alert physician when chart is incomplete.

Field Work Consists of:

• Assisting the provider at skilled nursing setting
• Performing approved procedures at patients home setting

Additional Duties including but not limited to:

• Comply with expected standards, as well as with confidentiality, as required
• Support medical staff in the field
• Communicate with patients, vendors, and insurance companies

Qualifications and experience:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
